Hours: 2 Saturdays per month + call in as needed. Must be able to work some day, evening, and weekend shifts on short notice.
The Mackenzie Public Library is seeking a motivated individuals with a flexible schedule and the ability to think independently in a demanding environment to provide exceptional front-line service to library customers.
Successful candidates will share the Library’s core values of customer service, freedom of information, social inclusion, and enabling lifelong learning.
a)Assists the public in the use of the Library.
b)Checks Library material in and out and returns items to shelves.
c)Assists in keeping the Library in neat order, including shelf reading.
d)Registers new patrons and updates records for existing patrons.
e)Spreads awareness of Library programs and services.
f)Phones patrons about reserved items that are ready for pickup.
g)Other duties, as required
a)Ability to deal with the public, staff, and volunteers in a tactful and courteous manner.
b)Knowledge of and ability to easily work with computers and computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and the Internet.
c)High school graduate preferred.

Volunteer Tech Tutors
Tech-savvy teens and adults volunteers needed to tutor the public in the use of computers, tablets, phones, internet basics etc. We hope to set up a weekly drop-in time for one-on-one tutoring, and we can work with your schedule. This is eligible for high school volunteer hours, and/or may come with a reference/recommendation letter if needed. Fill out a volunteer form at the Library to express your interest and we’ll contact you to set up times.
