Books for Babies
Books for Babies is a program that encourages parents of infants between birth and 12 months to share books with their babies. Research has shown that the importance of reading to children begins at birth. By reading to their babies and by becoming regular library users themselves, parents help their babies develop language skills and start them on the path to success in reading and learning.
Our Books for Babies bags are distributed by the Public Health nurses at your first home visit after baby is born. Each bag contains 2 books, a CD, information on Library programs.
Sponsored by the North Central Library Federation.
Don’t forget to check out our Babytime Program! It’s a great way to bond with your baby, start them on the path to early literacy skills, and meet other new parents in your community.
